Daftmill 2010 Summer Release 46%

The latest new Daftmill release is in. The vatting of first fill bourbon barrels at 46% gives a wonderful bouquet of peach with syrup, vanilla custard, lime sorbet and hazelnut spread that opens up after a while in the glass. In the mouth, a vibrant mix of sweet brioche, buttery popcorn, zest of lime and a hoppy fruitiness, finally rounded out by full-bodied notes of dried apricot. And then that lovely finish with vanilla and a gentle but lingering spiciness.

This is a beautifully balanced Daftmill that begs to be sipped on a hot summer day. If the bottle is not empty by then of course....
