With Mauritius 7 j. o., 1731 Fine & Rare opens a new rum territory: The single origin rum is a blend of 100% tropically aged, column-distilled rums from the Indian Ocean island state, which lies about 850 km east of Madagascar.

In the distillery's barrel warehouse, all rums are aged in cognac barrels for at least 7 years. The effect: a wonderfully subtle spiciness. A selection of older rums are then finished in port or acacia barrels for a further 3 years, giving the rum extra sweet and fresh flavors.

Tasting notes:

Nose: Powerful and fresh with notes of butterscotch and white flowers.

Taste: Powerful and balanced with sweet spices and light wood notes.

Finish: Elegant, long and dry.
