Gouden Carolus 11th Anniversary Edition 2024 Pedro 46% 50CL

Pedro is a limited release celebrating the 11th anniversary of the first whisky release from Brouwerij & Stokerij Het Anker. This edition received a pre-maturation on a mix of Bourbon and Anker barrels, followed by a finish of nearly 2 years on Vermouth barrels made from American oak. These were previously used to age Spanish vermouth made from Ximenéz grapes. Legend has it that Peter Siemens (Spanish: Pedro Ximinéz), a soldier of Emperor Charles V, brought these grapes to Spain from the German Rhine Valley. This floral whiskey has a slightly sweet taste with a fruity finish.
