Laphroaig 36y 40,2% 400 bottles

The Archive Collection, the first in a new series from Laphroaig, revolves around very limited, generously aged single malts from the legendary Islay distillery. This 36-year-old single malt begins the series in style, housed in hand-blown glass bottles inspired by the sea glass found on the beaches of Islay. Initially aged in bourbon casks, the whisky was then treated to a resting period in Oloroso casks with second fill, adding subtle sweetness and spice to the classic peat at its core. A worldwide release of 400 bottles at cask strength.

- Nose: Honey-sweet with hints of white peach and mango, followed by creamy dark toffee, vanilla and cedar, then subtle oil of wintergreen and notes of scorched sage and licorice root.

- Flavor: Spicy and sweet with orange and tropical fruit, first to coat the mouth and then transitioning to mouth drying.

- Finish: Warm and lingering with the peat on the palate and salt on the lips.
