This new reference coming from the Heaven Hill distillery, the result of an assemblage of minimum 120 new oak barrels bottled at 47%, comes to replace the Elijah Craig 12yo. The Small Batch carries in it notes of broom and coconut thanks to the long maturation in bourbon casks. An interestingly complex whiskey this Elijah Craig, the name refers to the first American to mature whiskey in new oak barrels, say the inventor of bourbon whiskey.
