Longueteau Genesis Collection 2018

We are at the end of the 19th century, in the middle of a sugar crisis. The unlucky Marquis of Sainte-Marie, faced with financial losses, was obliged to sell what would become the Marquisate of Sainte-Marie.

This estate is located not far from where Christopher Columbus landed in 1493, with the Atlantic Ocean on one side and the Soufrière volcano on the other.

In 1895, Henri Longueteau, founder of the distillery, decided to transform the small sugar mill of the Domaine du Marquisat de Sainte-Marie and to produce Rhum Agricole.

This is the genesis of Longueteau® Rum!

The Longueteau® Genesis celebrates the origin and the foundation of an ancestral know-how carried for 4 generations.

This 2015 vintage is produced from the crushing and fermentation of red cane (R579) from the estate.

Distilled at 73.51°, it was left for 24 months in stainless steel tanks, and then decanted at its natural degree (Brut de colonne).

Its aeration and regular brewing will give it suppleness and roundness at the time of tasting.
